There's something exciting about the month of December and all the holiday events associated with it.  Ladies, when shopping for investment pieces to brighten up your social wardrobe, remember to have fun with your basic pieces (such as a "LBD") and pair with festive pumps, a stylish handbag or clutch, a classic embellished blazer or eye popping accessories.

The Daily Swoon • All That Glitters . . .

I purchased this color {Happy Birthday} compliments of Deborah Lippmann a few months ago and decided that today will be the day that I finally rock the glitter fingers look.  It's such a fun and vibrant color and even on "blah" days it will remind me that life is too short to sweat the small stuff.  Since I have 13 close friends who are celebrating their birthday in the month of December, the color is so appropriate and festive.  

And besides, who doesn't appreciate a bit of sparkle, glitter and shine.

Tuesday's Featured Gown ● Vera Wang {Spring 2012 Bridal Collection}

In early Spring, I featured this pale pink strapless mermaid gown after seeing it at New York Bridal Market.  Clearly, it was love at first sight and I had to feature it again, since it is my source of inspiration today.  The pleated chiffon bodice, tissue organza blossom peplum with draped petal technique detailing and grosgrain multi-bow sash made me love it and and I still adore it today.  This gown has character, volume and is simply freaking stunning!

There are only a few things that make my heart skip a beat and this gorgeous gown by Vera Wang does it every time.  Isn't she lovely?

{Teaser} Bridal Fashion Shoot at Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens

Yesterday, my styling team had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth Stajka of Elizabeth St John Bridal Collections at the Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens in Washington, D.C.  The day was nothing short of amazing and we were so thrilled that the weather was on its best behavior {since there was a 80% chance of rain}.  Elizabeth will be showcasing her 2012 Bridal Collection on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Nuit de la mode.

At this event, you will also have the opportunity to examine the fashions on display in Hillwood's popular exhibition Wedding Belles: Bridal Fashions from the Marjorie Merriweather Post Family, 1874-1958.  We of course will be there to style the looks for the fashion show and would love to see you there!

My Personal Prayer on 9-11

 Lord, thank you for allowing me to see another day and the ability to pray for peace for everyone who has been touched by the tragedy of September 11th.  I pray for our country's safety, I ask that you bless the soldiers that guard our borders.  I ask that you continue to have your hand on this nation, and that you provide the leaders with the wisdom to guide us in the right direction.  Please revive your work in these days and make the saving beauty of Christ be seen and desired by all men.  Guard us from internal war, from compromise, fear and confusion, because it is in his name we pray.

Wedding Wednesday Signature Cocktail - Pink Bubble Gum Martini

• 1 oz bubble gum vodka
• 2 oz pink pink lemonade

In a martini shaker, combine the vodka and lemonade over ice and shake.  Pour into chilled martini glass with pink gumballs and lemon zest.  Cheers!

Beauty Event ● Danielle Lewis Beauty Lip Lustre Launch

Lip gloss was definitely poppin' last night. . . . 

I had the pleasure of celebrating with Danielle Lewis {Danielle Lewis Beauty} last night to commemorate the launch of her new Lustre Lip Gloss line.  Danielle specializes in bridal, runway, editorial and fashion makeup and is the epitome of a professional.  The event was hosted at Topaz Boutique in Baltimore, Maryland {which by the way, sells cute shoes and handbags}.  

Upon arrival, I was immediately introduced to the signature cocktail coined “Smooch.”  I loved it and had two {don’t judge me}.  The ambiance was very nice and John Legend crooned in the background as we glossed up our lips and decided which colors we admired the most.  I’m already in love with the collection because it does not feel like thick sticky glue and it survived my first sip of tea this morning.

Prior to my camera battery retiring for the evening, I was able to snap a few photos.

Baby Bash and Bling News ● "POP" An evening of Pregginista Belly Painting with Mikal

Love art?

Expectant moms turn your pregnant belly into a work of art.  Celebrities are doing it and so can you.  We are currently seeking five round bellies (20 weeks and beyond) to embellish for promotional purposes in conjunction with the upcoming Fall Baby Bash and Bling Expo and Show.  Our first body painting session will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011.
