My love for haute couture crowns is spiraling out of control these days.  Not surprisingly, we have accumulated the most fashionable headgear from many sources and they all serve a different purpose in my wardrobe.  I like to think of them as props since they allow me to channel my many alter-egos, are an effective way to accessorize and more importantly act as a buffer on bad hair days.

As I continue to rotate 600 + bridal photos from New York Bridal Market, I took a quick pause and began to drool over these haute shoes my assistant forwarded to me for an upcoming holiday event.  Since unique shoes are my weakness and I'm tempted to purchase both {but I'm in retail therapy - sigh} I just had to share them with you girls so that you can see how gorgeous they are.

"Think Pink" ● Breast Cancer Inspired Nail Lacquer

I received a bottle of OPI's Pink Of Hearts Nail Lacquer today while attending a luncheon with friends and this soft pink polish was included in our swag bags.  I've always been a huge fan of OPI and their colors never disappoint - whether "vamp" or "bridal," the sky is the limit with their fashion-forward nail lacquers.

 Annually, OPI has honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month by raising money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, as well as making a donation in the amount of $25,000.  Another fabulous organization located in Canada, Rethink Breast Cancer, will receive $5,000. {A.mazing!}

We love OPI and appreciate their efforts as we all strive and dedicate countless hours of volunteerism and good faith to find a Cure for Breast Cancer.

The Silhouette of Fashion

The arrivals at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York was in full glam mode Monday night. This year's theme honored "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion" exhibition and high fashion was definitely in full force. The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion focuses on iconic models of the twentieth century and their roles in projecting, and sometimes inspiring, the fashion of their respective eras. The exhibition, organized by historical period from 1947 to 1997, will feature haute couture and ready-to-wear masterworks accompanied by fashion photography and video footage of models who epitomized their epochs. Many celebrities opted for vintage inspired looks, as well as nude colors with hints of metallic, such as our favorite girl Sarah Jessica Parker.

We've compiled a list of our Top 5 looks and the consideration process was fairly simple, we looked for our Company's motto which is "sophisticated, classic, tasteful, elegant and timeless."  When determining our top choices, we decided that not only were the looks appropriate for red carpet - but for the white aisle as well.  An unconventional Bride on her special day could recreate any of these looks because she has a deep appreciation for eternal style, loves setting the tone and giving her guests something to chatter about.

Pink is one of our favorite colors at Savvy Soirées and it provides a modern yet feminine touch for any special event or a Blushing Bride's wedding attire.  Pale pink retains a traditional lady like feel, yet it is subtly distinct from tones of champagne, off-white or ivory. Pink also compliments olive and yellow skin tones, as well as pale complexions compared to white and various shades of cream.
